Kris Pedder, CD(DONA), HBCE, HBFE, CHt, B.Sc. Hons. (Health Sciences) Birth Doula, HypnoBirthing® and Childbirth Educator, HypnoBirthing Institute Regional Liaison Accredited Goulding SleepTalk® for Children Consultant, Fertility, Hypnotist Red Cross Infant and Child CPR, Certified Acupressurist for Labour, Waterbirth Training Member of DONA, Doula C.A.R.E., National Guild of Hypnotists. Kris is the founder of Beautiful Bellies Doula Care, supporting families in Halton and Peel Regions and the Greater Toronto Area. Her desire to become a Doula came as a result of her own childbirth experiences. In the last month of her first pregnancy, she became petrified of childbirth after two mothers in her prenatal group suffered from side-effects of the epidural. Unable to secure a midwife, she hired a doula for the birth of her daughter, which she feels is the best decision she ever made. Kris is a HypnoBirthing® Practitioner and Childbirth Educator, having witnessed how, when mind and body become one and by releasing fear, a much gentler birth is possible. Kris trained with Marie Mongan and is currently HypnoBirthing Institute Regional Liaison for Ontario, Quebec, and Eastern Canada. She is a member of the Doula Program at Trillium, Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. She is continually upgrading her training and she attended the Midwife Assistant Training at Ina May Gaskin's The Farm Midwifery Centre in April 2015.
Sarah, CD (DONA) Certified Birth Doula, Post-Partum Doula Member of DoulaCARE, DONA International, CAPPA Sarah discovered her enthusiasm for supporting women during labour and birth after her first child was born. During the birth of her first child she wished that she had an experienced woman by her side, whose role was to provide uninterrupted labour support from start to finish; someone who could answer questions, give suggestions and help her manage her anxieties. When she discovered that there was in fact a type of professional who could fulfill that role, she felt compelled to start her own journey as a birth doula. Sarah also enjoys providing post-partum care to mothers and their families during the weeks of transition following the birth of a new baby. She is a member of the Doula Program at Trillium, Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.
